Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central Implementation

JP TOKYO SUCCESSFULLY IMPLEMENTED MICROSOFT DYNAMICS BUSINESS CENTRAL ERP FOR A LEADING PEN MANUFACTURER.

Project Background

Our customer is a leading player in the writing instrument industry, known for its high-quality pens and markers. With decades of experience in the pen manufacturing business, the company decided to expand its operations by opening a new state-of-the-art manufacturing plant to meet the increasing demand for its products. To streamline and modernize their business processes, they approached JP Tokyo for the implementation of an ERP system.

Process

  1. Aggressive three-month deadline for the go-live, driven by the client's specific need to initiate the trading promptly:
JP Tokyo's dedicated team successfully implemented the trading modules within a three-month period, along with comprehensive training and rigorous testing.

  2. Phased Implementation to Meet Tight Deadlines:
With a short & strict deadline for both trading and manufacturing commencement, JP Tokyo planned a two-phase ERP implementation:
Phase 1 included the trading module implementation, testing, training, and go-live, followed by Phase 2, which included the manufacturing module implementation, testing, training, and go-live.

  3. Infrastructure Consultation and Database Backup Strategy:
With uncertainties regarding hardware specifications, the client sought guidance from JP Tokyo's team of experts. Our experts not only assisted in defining the hardware requirements but also provided valuable insights into backup strategies for the databases, ensuring a comprehensive infrastructure solution aligned with the client's needs.

  1. Transition from Cloud hosted server to On-Premises infrastructure:
The client requested an on-premises version of Business Central but encountered delays in hardware procurement. To meet the project deadline, JP Tokyo recommended commencing the implementation on cloud servers. Subsequently, once the client successfully acquired the necessary hardware, JP Tokyo's team seamlessly migrated Business Central from cloud-hosted servers to the client's own infrastructure after the successful go-live of the trading module.

  2. Scalable ERP System and Additional Quality Module for New Manufacturing Plant:
To accommodate increased production capacity and align with future growth objectives, in addition to the Manufacturing module, JP Tokyo's team developed a custom Quality module within Business Central. This tailored solution was implemented to ensure and maintain high production quality standards.

  3. Ensuring Compliance with Industry Regulations: JP Tokyo's team ensured data integrity and accuracy within the ERP system to meet the client's specific requirements for external audits and compliance with industry-specific regulations.

  4. Transitioning from SAP to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central:
Given the client's prior familiarity with SAP and inexperience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, JP Tokyo provided comprehensive training and ongoing support to the client's team on the new platform.

  5. Seamless Integration with 3rd Party E-Way Bill and E-Invoicing Systems:
JP Tokyo's team seamlessly integrated Business Central with third-party E-invoicing and E-way Billing systems to meet the client's specific integration requirements.

  1. Manual processes were streamlined and automated for increased efficiency.

  2. Real-time data and reporting capabilities empowered the client with enhanced operational visibility, facilitating proactive decision-making.
